Devils Museum in Kaunas

The exhibition of the Devils Museum started as a private collection of the Lithuanian artist Antanas Žmuidzinavičius. Žmuidzinavičius received his first Devil statue, the Samogitian Devil, as a gift. This immediately sparked his interest, leading him to set out on a journey to collect 13 statues in total. 13 has always been a lucky number for Žmuidzinavičius. However, he soon enough overshot that goal, and throughout his life, he collected more than 240 works of art. Not knowing what to do with the individual pieces, Žmuidzinavičius eventually donated them to the city of Kaunas, which then decided to create the Devil Museum.

Over the years, the Museum has expanded its collection to a staggering amount of over 2,000 pieces from all around the world. Nearly every continent is present in the museum’s exhibition and the differences in cultures and portrayals of the Devil are truly a sight to behold.

Zeitls

We at Zeitls believe that art and culture should be available to anyone and have made it our mission to preserve and immortalize historical objects in their digital form. Our path has led us to the creation of solutions such as the Certificate of Authenticity, allowing anyone to check the legitimacy of a given object.

The goal has always been to create the foundation for our future. With this approach we are able to set new standards for ownership rights and introduce regulations in an environment that previously has been largely unregulated.
